Anses d’Arlet and Grande Anse des Salines
The small white church of Les Anses d’Arlet, feet in the water, is an iconic image of the island: pale sand, coconut palms, colourful boats. In the south, Grande Anse des Salines stretches two kilometres of white sand, lined with sea grapes, facing Diamond Rock. Ideal for a sunrise swim together, then a ti-punch in the shade of a wooden hut, far from the hustle.
Mount Pelée and the wild north
A UNESCO World Heritage site since 2023, Mount Pelée rises over the north of the island at 1,395 metres. Its 1902 eruption engulfed Saint-Pierre, now a city of memory with a special charm at the foot of the volcano. The climb from the Aileron remains accessible and offers an exceptional panorama over the Caribbean and the Atlantic. A grand-scale date, to be lived early morning to escape the clouds.
Caravelle, Trois-Îlets and Balata Garden
In the east, the Caravelle peninsula alternates hiking paths, wind-beaten cliffs and mangrove. In Les Trois-Îlets, the Pagerie and its museum recall Joséphine’s childhood. Near Fort-de-France, the Balata Garden, terraced on the heights, reveals a thousand tropical plants. On Lyad, Martinique members share their favourite beaches and trails: it is up to you to find someone to walk them with.
